Tragically, at least 69 fatalities have been reported in Himachal due to weather-related incidents. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red and orange alerts for several states, warning of extremely heavy rainfall in the upcoming days.

Additionally, the weather agency has forecasted heavy rains for Delhi, Bengaluru, and Rajasthan. The oppressive weather conditions have caused discomfort for many, particularly in Mandi district of Himachal, where roads have been blocked due to heavy rainfall and landslides. Over the next 48 hours, heavy rainfall is anticipated to affect Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

The Met Department has indicated that the southwest monsoon will remain active over the western Himalayan region and the plains for the next week. Residents are urged to exercise caution and take necessary precautions to safeguard themselves from rain-related hazards.
